Pumpkin – Available for Adoption in Lihue, Kauai

Pumpkin the dog wandered on to the Whiskers Resort property on Halloween day, 2016. She’s named for her orange color and the holiday. Pumpkin had been traveling for a long time — her paw pads were worn from traveling and she needed care. She is a sweet girl, about 2 years old, and fixed. She does great with other dogs. She loves running around and playing, rolling in the grass, and playing with toys. She loves walks, belly rubs, and laying on her back to let the sunshine hit her belly. When playing with her dog friends, she has the biggest smile on her face! Her Whiskers Resort Aunties helped her a lot with socializing with other doggies, and now she needs more one-on-one time with human pals. She still needs some work since all of this is new to her, but she listens well and is very smart. We believe Pumpkin will be the perfect doggie for a family with other active doggies and human pals.

Tucker – Available for Adoption/Foster in Lihue, Kauai

Tucker is a fabulous, smart, loving, attentive dog and a wonderful companion. He needs a Forever or Foster home

right away. He is staying with his Whiskers Resort Family right now but really needs to be an only dog in a household with an active lifestyle and lots of attention.

Tucker is a fantastic trail dog. Sara, Whiskers Resort’s Manager, and her husband, Dave, take him on field trips up Sleeping Giant every weekend. He is an eager hiker and loves exercise. He greets everyone he meets — people and dogs alike — with a wagging tail and a curious nose. Tucker does great with kids, loves treats and attention and captures everyone’s heart. He loves to be scratched between his eyes and leans on your legs when you pet him. When he gets tired, he falls asleep on your feet.

Tucker loves to ride in any kind of vehicle, car, truck, or Jeep and sits perfectly in a seat or in the open air. He loves to stick his head out into the wind, but always keeps all four paws inside.

Tucker is extremely social, food-motivated, and eager to please. He learned how to sit and lay down in one day, and to lay down in his “spot”. We are still working on leash training with no pulling on the sidewalk, but he does really really well at a quick pace and when on the trail.

Tucker needs a loving Forever home or Foster home as soon as possible. The home needs to be secure and separate from cats.
